Mindful Academics introduces participants to the practice of classroom mindfulness which teaches useful and transferable classroom and community techniques to help students reduce school-related stress and anxiety by approaching academics with a calm and open attitude. Participants will personally practice these techniques and learn specific ways to incorporate mindfulness into their own classrooms. Mindful Academics is open to educators of all ages and subjects.

Session Objectives:

Learn more about the the research-supported field of mindfulness classroom practices.
Participate in community-building activities to teach skills and strategies that reduce anxiety and stress not only around academics, but also in other aspects of school and life.
List specific ways to incorporate these techniques into their own classrooms.
