Secondary school courses often reward students with the highest marks based almost entirely on their mastery of textbook material. The question is, how many of these students can say that the learning truly transformed them in a meaningful way? Participants in this workshop will engage in a number of activities that can make any course more engaging, more personal, and far more relevant to the lives of students. Examples from the current AP Psychology course will used for demonstration, so be prepared to share! And remember, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Session Objectives:

Reflect on the relevance of course content within the lives of students.
Develop new ideas for creating personally engaging lessons without sacrificing content.
