This session will give personal experience in creating and implementing two interdisciplinary units that were used in middle school social studies and Language art classes. It will start at the beginning showing the UbD framework, continue through example lesson plans and explain how to make assessments authentic and able to manage.

Session Objectives:

Explore the process of creating standards-based interdisciplinary units between Social Studies and English.
Walk away with units that allow students to pursue their passion for learning and create socially responsible solutions.
