This session is built upon Fiona Zinn's research on agency in learning environments as well as my own experience visiting Reggio Emilia last spring. We will explore the uniqueness of a given context, particularly Korea, and why identity matters. In addition, we will engage in discussions about possible modifications to the classroom environment by teachers and students in a co-constructive manner. Session attendees will come away with a better understanding of the way we as educators look at environments.

Session Objectives:

1. Understand the importance of negotiated learning spaces
2. Receive actionable guidance on creating spaces that cue participation
