As educators, improving the lives of students and how they relate to the world is an essential part of what we do. If you are an international teacher, life is usually stable and your school is well resourced and ready to go.
If you are from Guatemala with an unstable government, frequent violence and many other hurdles to your success, you might just want to give up what you are doing or not even try.
Being a teacher is not just a job to be inside a classroom; it requires to go out in the streets and be with the people as well, and it is our mission to provide information, to unify and motivate people to be the best version of themselves. To feel part of something. To make visible, the invisible. To dignify! To meet the fundamental needs of children.
Join in me in this session to talk about developing countries and how through education, the community and local business strategies, we can transform the world step by step, improve the realities of hundreds of children so that they can contribute to their communities. Let’s talk about and work together to stop racism, forced migrations and socioeconomic inequality - and where international students and education fit in.

Session Objectives:

Inspiration and motivation.
Reflection over the social responsibilities implied in teaching.
Share ideas and experiences over the role of adults in children’s lives, development, and future.
Understand that Education is a collective, diverse, and multitasking effort.
